Photography 101

This calendar shows all my photo blog posts during the Photography 101 workshop in November 2014. It is organized in calendar format and identifies the day of week, date, and theme/title.

Clicking on any title will take you directly to the photos for that assignment for you to view in another browser window. You will not lose your place in this index page, if you want to check out some other posts. I thought that this would be easier than scrolling through all the posts to see what you might want to look at

  2. Congratulations, Doug: your calendar got a shout-out in a Daily Post wrap-up article about Photo 101! Great idea, by the way: my photos are split between my two blogs, so I’m not sure if I could make the calendar work for me. For the moment, I added Photo 101 menus to both blogs.

    • Thanks. I enjoyed viewing your photos during the course. It’s nice how you have a Photo 101 category archives menu with sub-menu links to specific theme assignments. This allows someone to browse through all your photos, or select specific photo posts.

You might consider adding another link sub-menu at the end which points to the category archives on the other blog. This will enable anyone who follows or views one of your blogs to see the photos that were posted on the other one. The bi-directional cross links might get followers on one blog to view the other and perhaps follow that as well. Actually, I think I was only following one of your blogs, and now I can catch up on the photos that were posted on the other one that I might have missed.

  3. Doug, I forgot to say this yesterday: one beautiful thing about your calendar is that all your assignments were done on time. That is an impressive achievement, in itself. I have realized that I probably ought to sub-categorize my Blogging 101 assignments, so I came back to see what you had done. Your blog is wonderfully organized!

  4. Doug: there were so many of us I never saw your post till now. I really enjoyed browsing them. Now that I still don’t have any time on my hands I want to get all of my stuff organized. (Project Management side of me). I love the calendar idea. Did you do that from scratch? Do you have a back ground using HTML? The alignment is so perfect. Is there a template you started from? Guess what I have a billion questions. I need to stop blabbering and get busy.

    • I used HTML for the table. I used a full-width template so the sidebar was eliminated, and then everything fit OK. I had some trouble getting it formatted right, especially with multiple lines per cell. So I had to preview a lot, fix and retry until it looks right.
