Birds of Chicago: Real Midnight

Listen to indie folk music on the album Real Midnight that was just released by Birds of Chicago. Allison Russell and JT Nero characterize much of their music as “secular gospel” — earthly tunes that have the power to connect people. You can read a little more background of them and their music on their web site, as well as their tour dates now through August.

Real Midnight by Birds of Chicago (2016) – 11 songs, 44 min

Here are several videos of songs from their new album.

Remember Wild Horses on Folk Alley Sessions (2016) – 4 min 49 sec

Real Midnight on Folk Alley Sessions (2016) – 4 min 53 sec

And here’s a song that’s not on any of their current albums.

Good Dream on Folk Alley Sessions (2016) – 5 min 19 sec

Listen to more of their music at my Birds of Chicago post for more albums, videos, and links. This new album and playlist has been included there as well. Also you might like the Po’ Girl music from Allison Russell’s earlier group.

  1. Lovely music and I’ve never heard of Birds of Chicago. I’m a Yoga instructor and always looking for new music to inspire my practice and that of my students … just like this, not your typical Yoga fare. Thanks for sharing such sweet music … and so glad to have found your blog and this post via the Commenting Bootcamp! 🙂
